An Apology For My Last Post

09/03/2024

I have chosen to apolgize for my last post and the disruption it caused. The company I was subcontracting with had chosen to remove me from the project because it of. The only things I was told about it is that it was because of the blog post, and that I, "Wasn't a good fit". Which is more true than I realized. So it's clearly understood, I was brought into said company by another company as a sub contractor for testing. I haven't been able to find work as an engineer and it was something to do to keep me afloat.

There's a lot that needs to be understood about what happened here.

I had made the post to actually appeal to said company, as I did apply for the company after I saw a few engineer roles open. I figured pointing out some critical issues I see in the industry might have been a good idea to show how I would bring change to the industry through the role I applied for, and encourage developers to make better choices to bring more success to their projects. I had planned to write on many different topics, as I considered them to be in this major category. It clearly back fired.

It was not my intent to offend anyone. I'm sorry if anything I said came off that way. Terms I used were not to meant to be direct attacks at anyone in particular, and I am a big fan of the mentioned titles company, and I have grown to appreciate the company I was assigned to, for their hard work and efforts on trying to publish titles at their highest quality. Sorry if that was not understood.

I also apologize for mentioning said title that the company had, but I assure I didn't leak anything about it and anything I said about the title, that wasn't already public knowledge. I apologize for the confusion.

But then I realized it could be because that I wrote in a way that I was complaining about the title and the way it developed as if I had insider information. I did not. I have no idea how that title was coded, I had no access to any files or content of the title. I apologize for that as well, it was not my intent to sound as if I knew anything about it, in that way.

I also then realized that their employees may have mistaken me as someone working on the title, due to being a contract employee. I also apologize for that confusion.

The most important one that I realized overall what this was most likely about, is that it was innappropriate for a Software Engineer to be working as a tester. I think that was a larger part of the issues that were caused. Even though it strengthened my abilities to test titles, I also felt constantly out of place, and I was applying for other jobs to eventually move on, and get back into a Software Engineering position. To me the job was only temporary. So I get that it was easier to make the decision knowing that. But I also get that it was just causing problems due to how I felt about the position and how the position made me feel. I apologize for that as well. I will also be quitting as a tester at whole, as I know now, in such a position, I'll just continue to feel out of place.

I will be restoring the blog and blog entry, removing parts of it that I felt might have causesd any of this. And I will continue the blog while trying to be more careful about what I say.

But lastly, I would like to say thank you. I learned a lot testing for certification, and in fact my experience doing saw has taught me some invaluable things about designing in preparation for the certification process. So I feel as an engineer the role did give me a new perspective to consider when desiging my own gaming infrastructure.
